Bachelor of Arts in Industrial Design (Honours) at University Technology of Sarawak (UTS) is a three-year, full-time, English-medium degree that develops competence in product styling, design practice, ergonomics, and user-centred industrial design.
Students progress from design context, product styling, industrial design studies and design practice to graphic media, materials and process, universal and service design, modularity, sustainability, product costing, user experience, additive process design, and a two-part design research project, with industrial training in Year 2. Electives include electrical and electronic fundamentals, CAD, industrial safety, digital photography, interactive design, and woodworking. Graduates are prepared for product development designer, furniture designer, automotive/transportation designer, UX/service designer, and CAD and 3D visualisation design roles.
