Comprehensive Scholarship for Self-funded International Language Students
1. Award Method
1) Awards are presented once each academic year. Winners are determined after the second semester's final exams based on their academic performance and overall performance.2) The university awards scholarships, prizes, and certificates to winning international students. Scholarships are not paid in cash; winners will receive a corresponding tuition waiver for the following semester upon presentation of their scholarship certificate and proof of achievement.

1. Award Method

Chinese Government Scholarship for International Students
To encourage diligent study and law-abiding behavior among international students receiving Chinese government scholarships, scholarship recipients are also eligible to participate in the "President's Scholarship" selection process. First, second, and third place winners will receive scholarships of 3,000 yuan, 2,000 yuan, and 1,000 yuan, respectively, along with certificates. Students can also participate in the selection process for individual scholarships, specialty scholarships, and innovation scholarships. The scholarship system took effect on September 1, 2005.Scholarship Eligibility
1. Applicants must be foreign citizens in good health;2. Abide by the laws and regulations of the Chinese government and the rules and regulations of the university;
3. Have a positive learning attitude and excellent academic performance;
4. Applicant's educational background and age requirements:
Applicants for doctoral programs must have a master's degree and be under 40 years old;
applicants for master's programs must have a bachelor's degree and be under 35 years old;
5. Must not be a recipient of a Chinese government scholarship or other scholarships.
Application Materials
1. Two copies of the "Shanghai Government Scholarship Application Form for Foreign Students" (Please choose either Category A or Category B depending on your application situation. Fill out the form online on the "Study in Shanghai" website, then download and print it.) Contact E-Square to obtain the form. 2. Scholarship applicants must submit the following materials:
1) Notarized copies of academic qualifications and transcripts. Applicants currently enrolled must submit a certificate of expected graduation from their current university. Certificates not in Chinese or English must also provide notarized Chinese or English translations;
2) Personal statement: no less than 1,000 words for applicants for master's programs and no less than 1,500 words for applicants for doctoral programs. The content should include personal learning and work experience, academic research results, research plans for the master's or doctoral stages, personal development goals after graduation, etc.;
3) Published paper titles, abstracts, and other information and supporting documents that can prove one's academic achievements and research ability;
4) Two letters of recommendation from professors or associate professors, which must be originals in Chinese or English;
5) HSK certificate (for Chinese-taught majors);
6) Health certificate.

Check-in and registration
Students who receive scholarships must complete the registration and check-in procedures within the time specified by the school; otherwise, they will be deemed to have automatically forfeited their scholarships.Submit application materials
The school will submit the list of scholarship recipients and copies of their application materials to the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission for record within one month after the scholarship review process is completed.The School of International Education of East China University of Science and Technology reserves the right to interpret these implementation details.
