• The Chinese International Education (Chinese-taught) undergraduate programme (4 years) is delivered in Chinese and covers second language acquisition, intercultural communication, Chinese language teaching methodology, pedagogical grammar, introduction to Chinese culture, textbook development, classroom observation and practice, and testing and assessment, building foundations in second language acquisition, intercultural communication, Chinese language teaching methodology, pedagogical grammar, introduction to Chinese culture, textbook development, classroom observation and practice, and testing and assessment through coursework and projects (aligned with “Core subjects” and the application process below; modules follow programme notices).

Career pathways (overview)

• Graduates may pursue roles in international schools and language training institutions, Confucius Institutes and Chinese language education organisations, Chinese teaching in primary and secondary schools and universities, publishing and textbook institutions, and cultural exchange and translation, including Chinese language teaching assistant, curriculum and materials support, intercultural teaching coordination, and language testing and teaching practice support, subject to employers’ requirements and recruitment policies.
• They may also pursue further postgraduate study in Chinese international education, applied linguistics, education, translation, and related MA/PhD programmes, subject to admissions.
