The Beijing Foreign Student Scholarship is a scholarship offered by the Beijing Municipal People's Government to expand the enrollment of high-level international students in Beijing's higher education institutions and to enhance the overall internationalization of Beijing's higher education. The Beijing Foreign Student Scholarship provides tuition assistance to applicants pursuing non-degree, undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs at Beijing universities. Applicants should contact their institutions directly for details.



 

1. Types of Beijing Municipal Government Scholarships :

1.  Doctoral students

Full scholarship: 40,000 yuan/person/academic year
Half scholarship: 20,000 yuan/person/academic year
2. Master's students
Full scholarship: 30,000 yuan/person/academic year
Half scholarship: 15,000 yuan/person/academic year
3. Undergraduate students
Full scholarship: 20,000 yuan/person/academic year
Half scholarship: 10,000 yuan/person/academic year
4. Non-academic qualifications
Full scholarship: 5,000 yuan/person/semester


II. Scholarship Recipients:
Outstanding self-funded international students who        are newly enrolled or currently studying at the University of International Business and Economics in non-degree, undergraduate, master's and doctoral programs .



 

III. Application Eligibility :

(1) New students with academic qualifications


1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens and students from Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan.
2. Abide by Chinese laws and have no criminal record.
3. Abide by the University of International Business and Economics’ rules and regulations and have no record of disciplinary action.
4. Excellent academic performance.　
5. Undergraduate students must be under 30 years old, Master’s students must be under 35 years old, and PhD students must be under 40 years old.
The above conditions must be met simultaneously.
(2) Qualified students
    1. The applicant's academic performance ranks among the top among all current applicants in their grade and subject area;
    2. Good academic performance, compliance with all laws, regulations, school rules and regulations, ensuring class attendance and attending class meetings on time;
    3. Serving as student leaders or student assistants of the International College, those who have made contributions to student management and various activities will be given priority;
    4. Priority will be given to those who actively participate in various activities inside and outside the school, win awards, and bring honor to the school.
    5. Undergraduate students must be under 30 years old, Master’s students must be under 35 years old, and PhD students must be under 40 years old.
(3) Non-degree old students
1. Pass the final examinations of all courses taken in the previous semester on one try with an average score of 85 or above in all courses;
2. Serving as a student leader, enthusiastically serving classmates, actively cooperating with teachers in various tasks, showing dedication, hard work, and outstanding performance;
3. International students with academic qualifications who actively participate in various activities organized by the school and departments, perform outstandingly in these activities, and have strong organizational skills and prestige among the public.
4. Must be under 60 years old.

 

IV. Application Materials:

(1) New applicants with academic qualifications (application materials must be in Chinese or English; all application materials will not be returned)
1. Fill out and submit the Application Form for Beijing Government Scholarship. Contact E-Square to obtain the form .
2. Highest academic certificate and academic transcripts.
3. Applicants for degree programs should provide a study plan (no less than 400 words) or a research plan (no less than 800 words).
4. If applicable, provide relevant supporting materials and information such as honorary certificates, academic publications, scientific research results, patent inventions, etc.
(2) For students with a bachelor’s degree (application materials must be in Chinese or English; all application materials will not be returned)
    1. Complete and submit the paper version of the "UIBE Beijing Scholarship Evaluation Form for International Students";
    2. Applicants must provide transcripts for the 2023-2024 academic year;
    3. Applicants are required to provide a personal statement;
    4. Applicants are required to provide copies of various award certificates received during their studies, if any.
    5. Applicants must provide accurate banking information in China, including bank card number, cardholder name, and bank account information (must be accurate to the branch, for example, xx Bank Huixin East Street Branch) .
    6. If a representative wishes to collect the scholarship, applicants must submit a letter of authorization and passport copies of both parties.
(3) Non-degree old students


1. "Evaluation Form for Beijing Municipal Awards for Non-Academic Students of University of International Business and Economics"
2. Transcript from the previous academic year
3. Proof of participation in an activity or award certificate



 

5. Application Process for Beijing Municipal Government Scholarship :

   (1) New students with academic qualifications


1. After being admitted and paying tuition, new students should download and complete the scholarship application form, prepare the application materials, and send them to the admissions department's email address.
2. Students applying for the Beijing Municipal Government Scholarship should send their application form and other materials to: Contact E-Square for information .
3. The email subject must be: Beijing Municipal Government Scholarship Application + Student Name + Passport Number .
4. All materials should be sent in PDF format.
5. After receiving the student's application materials, the school will review them in an open, fair and impartial manner, and select outstanding international students with both academic and political integrity and potential for development.


   (2) Qualified students




1. Students must submit paper application materials to their respective colleges before November 8, 2024.
2. The Training College will conduct a preliminary review of the application materials and stamp the candidate recommendation summary form, which will be submitted to the International College’s Academic Education Affairs Department before the end of get off work on November 13, 2024.
3. The International Student Award Review Committee will review the initial list, determine the awardees, and publicly display the list of award candidates on campus for five calendar days.
4. During the public announcement period, those who have objections to the award winners may submit their objections to the International College in their real name. After the public announcement period expires, the Award Review Committee will determine the final list of winners based on the objections and appeals, and submit it to the school for approval.
(3) Non-degree old students


1. The student must submit a written application;
2. The Non-Academic Affairs Department will conduct a preliminary review of the applicants and compile a list of candidates and related materials within the specified time.
3. The winners will be determined by the International College Party and Government Joint Conference;
4. Publicize the list of award-winning candidates and set a period for objections. Any objections to the award-winning candidates must be submitted to the college within the objection period.
5. After the public announcement period expires, the International College will determine the final list of award recipients.

VII. Application Period and Results Announcement:　

Students applying for scholarships should  submit their applications to the Admissions and Program Development Department of the University of International Business and Economics between October 31 and November 15. The scholarship results will be announced at the end of November .
