Application Guidelines for the 2025/2026 Academic Year "Silk Road" Chinese Government Scholarship Program at Tianjin Normal University
The Silk Road Scholarship Program aims to cultivate industry leaders and skilled professionals in countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative. Tianjin Normal University, leveraging its dual-engine platform of "Chinese Language and Literature + Academic Disciplines" and combining an international perspective with a Chinese-centric approach, aims to precisely meet the talent needs of participating countries in areas such as mental health, geographical disaster prevention and mitigation, new energy development, and artificial intelligence.
1. Eligible Majors and Duration of Study
Undergraduate (4-year program): Applied Psychology
Master (3-year program): Applied Psychology, Developmental and Educational Psychology, Chemistry, Mathematics
Doctoral (3-5 years): Applied Psychology, Developmental and Educational Psychology, Physical Geography, Chemistry

Language of instruction: Chinese
Target countries: Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Laos, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Poland, Russia and other countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative

II. Scholarship Funding
This scholarship is fully funded and covers tuition, on-campus accommodation, living expenses, and comprehensive medical insurance for international students in China. III. Application Requirements
  1. Non-Chinese nationals, physically and mentally healthy.
  2. Age and Education Requirements:
    Undergraduate applicants must have a high school diploma and be under 25 years old.
    Master's applicants must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent and be under 35 years old.
    Doctoral applicants must have a master's degree or equivalent and be under 40 years old.
  3. Language requirements:
    Undergraduate students must pass HSK Level 3. Applicants who do not score 180 points on HSK Level 4 must complete a one-year preparatory course.
    Master's and doctoral applicants must pass HSK Level 4. Applicants who have previously completed a degree taught in Chinese at a Chinese university are exempt from the HSK requirement.
    Prospective students will be assigned to either program or a year of Chinese language instruction based on their test results.
  4. Other:
    Applicants must meet the academic, language, and admission requirements of Tianjin Normal University.
    Submission of supplementary materials such as essays, award certificates, and internship certificates is encouraged.

VI. Application Materials
  1. Chinese Government Scholarship Application Form (fill in online)
  2. Scanned copy of passport front page (validity date must be later than May 2026)
  3. Notarized highest academic qualification certificate or expected graduation certificate
  4. Transcript (notarized required)
  5. Study Plan in China: no less than 500 words for undergraduates and no less than 1000 words for masters and doctoral students
  6. Two letters of recommendation from professors or associate professors (for master's and doctoral applicants)
  7. Physical Examination Form for Foreigners and blood test report (filled in Chinese or English, the physical examination form is valid for 6 months)
  8. Applicants under the age of 18 must submit legal documents of their legal guardian in China
  9. Criminal record certificate (issued within 6 months before application)
  10. Pre-admission materials (provided by Tianjin Normal University after review)
VII. Admission and Important Notes
  1. Tianjin Normal University will review the application materials and determine the list of candidates for admission
  2. Candidates to be admitted must be reviewed and approved by the China Scholarship Council before they are officially eligible for the scholarship.
  3. Award winners are not allowed to change their institution, major, or study period after arriving in China.
  4. In principle, those who fail to register on time will not retain their scholarship eligibility.
  5. All original application materials must be brought with you when you register
