Details
1. Scholarship Introduction
In order to attract and encourage more outstanding foreign students to study in Guangdong, vigorously promote the healthy and rapid development of international students in Guangdong's higher education, and enhance the national influence and internationalization level of Guangdong's higher education, the Guangdong Provincial Government established the "Guangdong Provincial Government Scholarship for International Students in Guangdong" project in 2013.
II. Application Requirements
1. Applicants must hold foreign nationality, a valid foreign passport, be in good health, and be friendly to China.
2. Applicants for undergraduate education in Guangdong must have a high school diploma or above in their country of origin and be under 30 years old;
Applicants for master's degree programs in Guangdong must hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent and be under 35 years old;
Applicants who apply to study doctoral degree in Guangdong must have a master's degree or equivalent and be under 40 years old.
3. Applicants must have excellent academic performance, a clear purpose for studying in Guangdong, and have developed a clear study plan based on the program of the university they intend to attend, combined with their own interests and professional expertise.
4. Applicants must have been admitted to our school.
5. Applicants must not be recipients of any Chinese government scholarships, Confucius Institute scholarships, or any other forms of funding from the Chinese government at all levels.
III. Number of Scholarships and Amount
Undergraduate students: 10,000 cny/person;
Master's degree students: 20,000 cny/person;
Doctoral students: 30,000 cny/person.

V. Application Materials
1. Guangdong Provincial Government Scholarship for International Students Annual Application Form (II) signed by the applicant.
2. Original or notarized copy of final academic certificate. For recent graduates, the original certificate of expected graduation is required. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must also be provided with a notarized Chinese or English translation.
3. Original or notarized copies of transcripts for all courses completed during the final academic period. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must also include notarized Chinese or English translations.
4. A copy of your HSK Level 4 or above certificate (applicants for Chinese-taught programs only. Students who submit a copy will be subject to inspection during registration. If the certificate is found to be forged, admission will be revoked).
5. Copy of passport (valid ordinary passport).
6. Electronic ID photo (same size as passport photo, JPG format).
7. An 800-word personal statement in Chinese or English. This statement should include your academic and work experience (if any), academic research achievements, and research plans from previous studies.
8. Two original letters of recommendation, written in Chinese or English. Applicants for undergraduate programs must provide letters of recommendation from the principal and one teacher of their high school. Applicants with a high school degree or higher must provide letters of recommendation from two professors or associate professors at their former high school. Applicants for master's programs must provide letters of recommendation from two professors or associate professors from their undergraduate program. Applicants for doctoral programs must provide letters of recommendation from two professors or associate professors from their master's program.
★After completing the "Guangdong Provincial Government Scholarship Annual Application Form (II)", you need to scan it and make an electronic version.
★If necessary, our school will require applicants to submit additional materials.
★If you have documents that can prove your comprehensive ability, such as award certificates, certificates of merit, admission letters from foreign universities at the undergraduate level or above, etc., you can submit them together with the application.
★Regardless of admission or not, the above materials will not be returned.
VI. Scholarship Selection and Results Announcement
After applicants register for admission in September, our university will organize experts to comprehensively consider the applicants' academic performance, academic ability, research achievements, and the opinions of their supervisors to determine the admission list. In September 2025, the list of scholarship candidates will be submitted to the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education for final review and selection of the final list of recipients. The list of recipients will be announced in late October 2025.
VII. Scholarship Award
After the list of winners is announced, the school will pay the prize in one lump sum to the winner’s personal Bank of China account at the end of 2025.
