About Nanjing University of Science and Technology
Nanjing University of Science and Technology (NUST) is a high-level research university in China, committed to cultivating globally competitive, top-tier innovative talent. In 2017, the university was selected for the "Double First-Class" program, with its "Weaponry Science and Technology" discipline included in the program. Eleven of the university's disciplines currently rank in the top 1% globally in the ESI international rankings, with engineering, materials science, chemistry, and computer science ranking in the top 1‰. An additional ten disciplines have been selected for the Jiangsu University Advantage Discipline Development Project, and the university has consistently achieved strong results in authoritative global rankings such as ESI, US News, and QS. The establishment of the Lanshan Scholarship Program aims to attract more outstanding young people with lofty ambitions and a global vision to work with NUST to inherit the Lanshan spirit and create a better future.
1. Application Requirements
1. Non-Chinese citizens holding a valid ordinary passport
2. Physically and mentally healthy, good conduct, and excellent academic performance
3. Language proficiency requirements:
● English-taught: IELTS 6.0, TOEFL 85, Duolingo 105 or equivalent
● Chinese medium: HSK Level 5 for undergraduates, HSK Level 6 for postgraduates
4. Educational background and age requirements:
● Undergraduate applicants: high school graduates with excellent academic performance, under 26 years old
● Master's degree applicants: Bachelor's degree holders, excellent academic performance, and no older than 35 years old
● Doctoral applicants: Master's degree holders with excellent academic performance, under 40 years old

II. Scholarship Content
Undergraduate students (4 years):
● Category A+ (10 students): free tuition and accommodation, and a monthly living allowance of RMB 1,000
● Category A (20 students): Tuition fee only
● Category B (20 students): 50% tuition reduction
● Category C (50 people): Only accommodation fee is exempted
Master's students (3 years):
● Full scholarship (20 students): free tuition and accommodation, monthly living allowance of RMB 1,500
PhD students (4 years):
● Category A (5 students): free tuition and accommodation, monthly living allowance of RMB 3,500
● Category B (8 students): free tuition and accommodation, monthly living allowance of RMB 2,500
● Category C (12 students): free tuition and accommodation, monthly living allowance of RMB 1,500
After admission, scholarship recipients must participate in annual review to ensure continued scholarship benefits. For details, please refer to the Nanjing University of Science and Technology International Students Handbook.
III. Application Materials
Undergraduate application materials:
1. Passport: Passport front page (valid for more than 12 months).
2. Educational Proof: Notarized highest academic certificate. If the applicant is a recent graduate, a certificate of expected graduation or proof of enrollment from their current school is required.
3. Transcript: Official high school transcript (must be stamped by the school's academic affairs department). If the transcript is not in Chinese or English, a notarized English translation is required.
4. Proof of Language Proficiency: Provide a language proficiency certificate valid within the past two years (HSK, TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo).
5. Personal statement: Motivation for study and major selection, minimum 800 words (in Chinese or English). Click here to download the personal statement template
6. Recommendation Letters: Provide two letters of recommendation from high school teachers, stating their relationship with the applicant.
7. "Foreigner Physical Examination Form": A copy (the original should be kept by the applicant; this form is printed by the Chinese health and quarantine authorities and must be completed in English). Applicants must strictly follow the items specified in the "Foreigner Physical Examination Form." A "Foreigner Physical Examination Form" that is missing any items, does not have a photo or a stamp on the photo, or is signed and stamped by the physician and hospital will be invalid. 8. Criminal Record Certificate: Issued by the local public security agency. The document must be valid for the past 6 months prior to the application.
9. Proof of Financial Resources: Provide financial guarantee materials (such as income certificate, deposit certificate or guarantee letter from parents or guardians).
10. Other materials: such as award certificates, proof of special skills, and other supporting materials.
Graduate application materials:
1. Passport: Passport front page (valid for more than 12 months).

7. Recommendation Letters: Provide two recommendation letters (signed by professors or associate professors), including evaluations of academic ability, research ability, and future development potential.
8. IV. Selection Criteria
undergrad:
● Academic performance 30% (high school grades, standardized test scores)

● Overall quality 50% (interview performance, awards, special skills, etc.)
postgraduate:
● Academic background 30-40% (school reputation, grades, and degree of professional compatibility)
● Scientific research capabilities 30-40% (achievements, projects, research plans)
● Development potential 20-30% (recommendation letters, interview performance, language proficiency)
V. Application Process
1. Online application: Log in Contact E-Square to get scholarships form , fill out the application form, and upload your application materials.
2. Qualification review: whether the application materials are complete, authentic and valid
3. Expert review: Comprehensive assessment (online interview + academic level test) based on application category and scoring
4. Result announcement: The list of candidates to be admitted will be announced on the school website
5. Admission Notice: Nanjing University of Science and Technology's "Admission Notice" and "Visa Application Form" (JW202) will be sent to the email address provided on the application form in early August. Please respond promptly to indicate whether you accept or reject the application.
