1. Scholarship Categories and ContentsCategory B Scholarship (Partial Scholarship): Covers tuition fees and comprehensive medical insurance for the corresponding period of study, and is applicable to undergraduate, master's and doctoral studies.
II. Application Requirements
1. Applicants must be foreign nationals and in good health.
2. Educational background and age requirements for applicants:
Applicants for undergraduate studies must have graduated from high school and be no older than 25 years old; applicants for master's programs must have obtained a bachelor's degree and be no older than 35 years old; applicants for doctoral programs must have obtained a master's degree and have a certain level of academic proficiency and be no older than 40 years old.
Applicants for undergraduate preparatory courses should have a high school degree or above, obtain a pre-admission notice from an undergraduate institution, and be under 23 years old.
3. Excellent academic performance.
4. Meet the corresponding language proficiency requirements:
Applicants must have a Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) score of at least Level 4 (a new HSK certificate is required). They must also meet the language requirements for the medium of instruction specified by the institution and program they are applying to.
5. Meet the requirements of the institution and major you are applying to.
6. Not receiving any other scholarships from the Chinese government.
III. Application Process
Log in to the "Study in Shanghai" website Contact E-Square to get scholarships website to find and apply directly to your desired school and program. Applications typically run from February to April each year, but individual institutions may adjust their application schedules and procedures annually. Please refer to the information published on each institution's admissions website for details.
4. Daily Management
The school will guide students who receive scholarships to handle visa, enrollment and registration procedures.
In principle, the school will arrange for scholarship students to live in student dormitories in the first year.
Scholarship recipients must participate in an annual scholarship review as required. Each recipient institution will conduct a comprehensive review of their scholarship recipients' academic performance, learning attitude, attendance, behavior, and rewards and penalties. This review will be publicly reported to the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission. Those who pass the review will receive the scholarship for the following academic year; those who fail the review will have their scholarship suspended or revoked.
Every academic year, the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission and various colleges and universities will organize various types of international students, especially scholarship students, to carry out themed educational activities such as "Perceiving China" and "Studying in Shanghai" to allow scholarship students to experience China and understand Shanghai.
