The Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine International Student "Inspiration" Scholarship is designed to encourage outstanding full-time international undergraduate students at Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
I. Applicant Requirements:
(1) Foreign nationality and good health.
(2) Excellent academic performance and both moral character and academic performance.
(3) Applicants must apply before admission to all undergraduate programs and must be under 40 years old in principle.
(4) Recipients of the Chinese Government Scholarship (excluding the "Outstanding International Students Scholarship") or the Shanghai Government Scholarship for Foreign Students are not eligible to apply. Applications will be based on the highest award available for other university-level international student scholarships and cannot be combined.

II. Award Amount
: Category A: 14,000 RMB per student per academic year, with a maximum award period of 4-5 academic years (based on the academic year).
Category B: 5,000 RMB per student per academic year, with a maximum award period of 4-5 academic years (based on the academic year).
Category A and Category B cannot be combined.

III. Award Ratio:
Category A: Maximum award of 15% of the undergraduate enrollment.
Category B: Up to 20% of the undergraduate admissions quota.

IV. Application Materials
(1) Proof of highest academic qualification.
(2) Academic transcripts from the institution of graduation.
(3) Non-Chinese students or students who completed basic education outside of China must provide an HSK 2 certificate.
(4) All documents must be in Chinese or English. Documents in other languages must be accompanied by a notarized Chinese or English translation.
(5) Applicants must guarantee the authenticity of the documents they provide. Falsification will result in disqualification from the scholarship, and the applicant will bear all consequences.
(6) If an applicant is not awarded, application materials will not be returned.

V. Application
Deadline: June 15th of each year. Self-funded international undergraduate students must complete the online application simultaneously with the admissions application. VI. Scholarship Review and Annual Audit
(I) The Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Scholarship and Grant Review Leadership Group (hereinafter referred to as the "Scholarship and Grant Review Leadership Group") is responsible for leading, coordinating, and supervising the scholarship review process, adjudicating student appeals against review results, and designating relevant departments to centrally maintain scholarship review materials. The International Education College Scholarship and Grant Review Committee (hereinafter referred to as the "Review Committee") is responsible for organizing and conducting preliminary reviews of scholarship applications.
(II) Initial Review: For new scholarship applicants, applications are generally reviewed in batches based on the university's admissions process. The Review Committee conducts a preliminary review of application materials, which are then submitted to the University's Financial Aid Management Center for review and finalized by the Scholarship and Grant Review Leadership Group. Upon approval, the "Admission Notice," "Scholarship Notice," and "Visa Application Form for Foreign Students Studying in China" (JW202) will be mailed to the applicant.
(III) Annual Audit
1. The university will conduct a comprehensive review of the scholarship recipient's academic performance, learning attitude, attendance, behavioral performance, and rewards and penalties from the previous academic year. Category A recipients must be ranked in the top 20% of their grade in the previous academic year and have obtained all the required course credits for the third grade as specified in the guiding teaching plan (fourth-year undergraduates must complete all the required course credits for the current grade as specified in the guiding teaching plan and all the elective course credits required for graduation) to be eligible to continue to receive the scholarship for the next year; Category B recipients must be obtained all the required course credits for the current grade as specified in the guiding teaching plan (fourth-year undergraduates must complete all the required course credits for the current grade as specified in the guiding teaching plan and all the elective course credits required for graduation) to be eligible to continue to receive the scholarship for the next year.
2. Those who fall into any of the following circumstances will have their eligibility for the "Inspiration" scholarship suspended for one year:
(1) Those who have been punished for disciplinary violations by the school.
(2) Those who have failed the assessment.
(3) Those whose grades for the academic year do not meet the specified requirements.
(4) Those who have not paid tuition, accommodation fees (including water and electricity fees) or purchased comprehensive medical insurance as required by the school.
(5) Those who have committed academic misconduct such as plagiarism or falsification of papers.
(6) There are other circumstances that are not suitable for the scholarship review. Before the expiration of the suspension period, students can apply to participate in the annual review of the current year. If they pass the review and are approved, the scholarship can be resumed from the next academic year.
3. Students who encounter the following situations will be immediately disqualified from the scholarship:
(1) Students who are expelled or dismissed from school.
(2) Students who fail to pass the annual review twice during their studies at the school.
(3) Students who do not participate in the annual review without a valid reason.
4. After the review committee completes the preliminary review of this scholarship, it shall be announced (3 working days). If there is no objection to the public announcement results, all application materials shall be submitted to the school funding management center for review and the scholarship review leadership group for approval. The review results shall be announced throughout the school (2 working days). If there is no objection to the public announcement results, they shall be announced and the scholarship shall be awarded in accordance with relevant regulations. Students who have objections to the scholarship review results may submit an appeal to the review committee during the public announcement period. The review committee shall study and respond to the appeal in a timely manner. If students still have objections to the review committee's response, they may submit a request for a decision to the Scholarship Review Leadership Group during the university's public notice period.
(IV) International students who are on leave of absence are not eligible for scholarships, but will be eligible upon returning to school.
