II. Eligibility

Non-Chinese citizens, in accordance with China’s Ministry of Education [Document No. 12, 2020].

Aged 18–25, and have completed high school.

Applicants under 18 as of September 1, 2025, must submit an official notarized guardianship certificate issued in Tianjin. The guardian must be a permanent resident of Tianjin.

Language requirements:

IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 80 and above (exempted for applicants from native English-speaking countries recognized by the university).

Good moral character, in good health, and willing to abide by Chinese laws and Tianjin University regulations.
III. Application Procedure

Apply within the official application period (exact date to be confirmed with E-Square Ms. Zhong).

Register and submit your application through Tianjin University’s system.

Upload all required materials (see below).

Submit the Chemical Engineering Scholarship Application Form under the “Others” section of the application portal.

Deadline: Usually early April each year (please confirm with E-Square contact).
Important: Due to limited intake, applicants are strongly encouraged to apply early.
IV. Required Documents

High school graduation certificate or notarized copy (graduating students may submit expected graduation proof).

Transcripts of all high school courses or international standardized test results (e.g., SAT, ACT, A-Level, AP, IB).

Passport information page (must be valid past March 1, 2026).

Applicants formerly holding Chinese citizenship must also provide proof of renunciation of nationality and entry/exit records.

English or Chinese language proficiency documents.

Resume detailing study and work experience since high school.

Study plan (minimum 600 words, in English for English-taught programs).

Completed Foreigner Physical Examination Form, dated after Oct 1, 2024.

Current visa page and certificate of good academic standing (for applicants already studying in China).

Certificate of no criminal record (issued within 6 months).

Bank statement or financial guarantee.

Guardianship certificate if under 18 by Sept 1, 2025.

Other supporting documents (e.g., awards).
📝 All non-Chinese/English documents must be translated and notarized. Only scanned color copies are accepted (no photos or photocopies).
V. Admission & Review
Tianjin University will evaluate applicants based on:

High school academic performance

Language proficiency
-
Interview or written test (if applicable)
Applicants can check the status via the Tianjin University online system.
Once admitted, students (excluding Chinese Government Scholarship recipients) must prepay:

Deposit: RMB 7,000

Registration Fee: RMB 420
Upload proof of payment to the system. After confirmation, admission documents (Admission Notice and Visa Form JW202) will be issued in July.
⚠️ Refunds will not be issued if the student withdraws.
VI. Visa & Registration

Registration: Usually late August or early September.

Original diploma and authentication must be presented on arrival. Failure to comply will result in revocation of admission.
VII. Fees (in RMB)

Insurance (accident and medical): RMB 800/year

Accommodation: RMB 15–60/day depending on location and room type
