Criteria

This scholarship is open to Malaysian and international students enrolled in full-time undergraduate music degree programmes at Sunway University.

Eligible candidates must possess one of the following musical backgrounds:

• Instrumental Performance: Minimum Grade 6 proficiency or equivalent experience in school bands, covering:
  • String instruments (piano, violin, viola, cello, double bass, etc.)
  • Wind instruments (flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, saxophone, etc.)
  • Brass instruments (trumpet, trombone, horn, tuba, etc.)
  • Percussion instruments (timpani, xylophone, marimba, etc.)
• Vocal Performance: Active participation in school choirs or vocal ensembles
• Music Production: Comprehensive portfolio featuring original compositions created using industry-standard Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) software and contemporary production techniques

• Selected applicants will be invited to participate in live auditions, where they must perform three contrasting musical pieces to demonstrate their versatility and technical skills.
• Final scholarship awards are determined through a comprehensive evaluation process including both audition performance and personal interview.
