Xidian University

Xidian University (XDU) is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education of China, with distinctive features in electronics and information disciplines, covering engineering, science, management, liberal arts, and economics. The university's predecessor was the Central Military Commission Radio School established in Ruijin, Jiangxi in 1931, the first engineering and technical school founded by Mao Zedong and other revolutionary leaders. The university experienced the Long March and continued to operate during the march, maintaining the longest red heritage among Chinese universities. The university now has two campuses, South and North, with a total area of 3,944.8 acres and a building area of 1,590,600 square meters. The university has two national "Double First-Class" construction disciplines: Information and Communication Engineering, and Computer Science and Technology, with 2 national first-level key disciplines, 7 national second-level key disciplines, and 35 provincial and ministerial key disciplines. In the fifth round of national discipline evaluation, Information and Communication Engineering and Electronic Science and Technology were rated A+, and Control Science and Engineering was rated B+.
